Michigan 2025 Football Schedule: The Wolverines Look To Rebound

The Michigan Wolverines had a season of ups and downs in 2024. They ended the season with an 8-5 record and a 5-4 standing in the Big Ten. They did close strong with a three-game win streak. Despite it all, the season didn’t live up to the championship standard set in the years prior.

The offensive lines that won Joe Moore Awards in 2021 and 2022 seemed long gone. This was also because of six key linemen, including Trevor Keegan, Zak Zinter, and Drake Nugent, leaving. As a result, Michigan’s once-mighty rushing game slipped to a middling 73rd nationally. In addition, their passing attack was ranked 130th out of 133 teams. Just ahead of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, who don’t even bother throwing the ball.

Head coach Sherrone Moore, a former offensive lineman, knows what needs fixing. And Moore better get to the fixing quickly, as the road ahead is tough.

List of Michigan Wolverines’ 2025 Opponents

Michigan’s 2025 schedule is a gauntlet, packed with heavyweight matchups and some good old rivalries.

    • Aug. 30, Saturday:
vs. New Mexico (Ann Arbor, Mich.)
    • Sept. 6, Saturday:
      At Oklahoma (Norman, Okla.)
    • Sept. 13, Saturday:
vs. Central Michigan (Ann Arbor, Mich.)
    • Sept. 20, Saturday:
      At Nebraska (Lincoln, Neb.)
    • Oct. 4, Saturday:
      vs. Wisconsin (Ann Arbor, Mich.)
    • Oct. 11, Saturday:
      at USC (Los Angeles, Calif.)
    • Oct. 18, Saturday:
      vs. Washington (Ann Arbor, Mich.)
    • Oct. 25, Saturday:
At Michigan State (East Lansing, Mich.)
    • Nov. 1, Saturday:
      vs. Purdue (Ann Arbor, Mich.)
    • Nov. 15, Saturday:
      At Northwestern (Evanston, Ill.)
    • Nov. 22, Saturday:
      At Maryland (College Park, Md.)
    • Nov. 29, Saturday:
vs. Ohio State (Ann Arbor, Mich.)

That is the kind of schedule the Wolverines will have to fight tooth and nail against if they want to win. Oklahoma is their first big test. Central Michigan follows, but things get real when Nebraska, Wisconsin, and USC come calling. The Oct. 18 showdown against Washington in Ann Arbor is a defining moment as both programs will look to stake their claim in the Big Ten hierarchy.

And finally, the big one. Ohio State on Nov 29. Last year, when the two went up against each other, it was war on the field. Michigan took down the No. 2-ranked Buckeyes and went on to win 13-10. The road back to the top won’t be easy.

But if Michigan can fix its offensive woes and channel the fight, as shown in that Ohio State win, the Wolverines might be knocking on the Big Ten championship door once again.
