Shedeur Sanders Asked To Swap Jerseys With Michael Vick

Sanders made his way to the NFL Celebrity Flag Football game in New Orleans, where fate had him crossing paths with his idol. Amid the star-studded event, Sanders shared a lighthearted exchange with Vick, soaking in the surreal moment while also making the rounds to meet fellow athletes and celebrities on the field.

Captured by Well Off Media on YouTube, the footage follows Sanders as he daps up stars like Kai Cenat, GloRilla, and Angel Reese before kickoff. While he enjoyed meeting all the big names, nothing topped the excitement of finally connecting with his quarterback hero.

Listen, listen, if this, you feel me, who I look up to, I want to watch and see what you do. I’m just watching, taking notes. I’m going to need the jersey swapped after the game,” Sanders told Vick.

I want your first jersey after your first game this year. Sign it and send it to me. I want to frame it in my crib,” Vick responded.

Both men agreed on it with a handshake and even played catch for a while after that. Moreover, Vick announced that this would be the last game of his career and even pointed out his white beard. The 44-year-old legend has his eyes set on coaching and will become the head coach at Norfolk State in 2025.

However, Sanders has yet to begin his NFL journey. He made a mark last season with 4,134 passing yards, 37 touchdowns, and a 74% completion rate.

Vick Is Excited To Witness the Career Trajectory of Sanders and Cam Ward

Vick sat down with the media during the Super Bowl week, where he praised the talent of John Elway as a star quarterback. However, he was interrupted mid-sentence by one of the reporters, which made the current Norfolk State head coach quite furious.

“You just going to cut me off while I’m talking about John like that. That’s disrespectful, man. This John Elway, one of the greatest quarterbacks ever.” Vick said. “Give me a comparison right now of a quarterback that look like John Elway. Give me one, make it good.”

Without skipping a beat, Vick answered his own question, immediately naming Kansas City Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes as the best quarterback in the league.

In the same breath, he turned his attention to the future, sharing his excitement about the next generation of quarterbacks — especially Sanders and Cam Ward — who are gearing up to take the NFL by storm.

“I’m excited about Cam and Shedeur, you know. You only need two quarterbacks to enter the league every year to keep the train rolling,” Vick said. “I think those guys are game changers. I think they’re generational talents.”

Sanders and Ward are poised to shake up the 2025 NFL Draft, with both expected to be top-five picks. Fans are already buzzing about the inevitable showdown between these two talented playmakers at the next level.
