Miami Hurricanes QB and 2025 NFL Draft Prospect Cam Ward Secures New Era Brand Deal

Miami Hurricanes QB Cam Ward, one of the top prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft, just landed a massive brand deal with New Era.

Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward has firmly positioned himself among the top prospects for the 2025 NFL Draft. Alongside fellow stars, Colorado Buffaloes QB Shedeur Sanders and WR/CB Travis Hunter, Ward is in the conversation as a potential top-five pick. His stellar 2024 season only strengthened his case, securing the fourth-place finish in Heisman Trophy voting.

Ahead of the draft on April 24 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Ward has landed a huge sponsorship deal with New Era, a sports apparel company most known for its hats. So, it appears the 22-year-old is already making strides before even making it on an NFL roster.

Cam Ward Signs Sponsorship Deal Ahead of 2025 NFL Draft

Ward inked the deal with the cap company on Friday, as reported by the company on X. They even uploaded a promotional video where Ward can be seen trying out the caps for himself.

On3’s Pete Nakos reported that Ward will also be New Era’s sole spokesperson in the upcoming NFL Draft since they are the official outfitter of the NFL Scouting Combine.

“Miami quarterback and top 2025 NFL draft prospect Cam Ward has signed a sponsorship deal with New Era. Will be New Era’s sole spokesperson for the upcoming NFL draft,” Nakos wrote on X.

New Era also uploaded a picture of Cam Ward donning the New Era cap on its Instagram.

“Indianapolis is where preparation meets opportunity for the world’s best prospects,” the post reads. “Cam Ward trusts the 2025 Draft Combine Collection to deliver maximum comfort and performance when it matters most. Rise to the challenge with New Era Cap, the Official Outfitter of the NFL Draft Combine,” the post concludes.

The company also released a press release showcasing its new gear collection, which includes bucket hats, baseball caps, socks, cut-off hoodies, shorts, and sweatshirts.

Ward has been signing deals left and right, as he also landed one with Adidas back in Oct. 2024. So, it seems Ward has already been working towards strengthening his brand for a while now.

Ward Breaks Silence On His Recent NIL Deal

Ward broke his recent silence to praise his new hat supplier.

“New Era understands this moment,” Ward said. “They know how much work we put in and what’s at stake for us as athletes. I’m excited to team up with New Era Cap to launch this new collection that celebrates what the NFL Combine means to both athletes and fans,” he concluded.

Right after this announcement, New Era Cap’s Senior Director of Licensed Products, Tim Shanahan, talked about his upcoming collections in relation to the NFL Scouting Combine.

“The NFL Scouting Combine is a pivotal moment in a young athlete’s football career, and New Era is proud to be part of that moment with them,” Shanahan said. “Featuring everything from caps and hoodies down to socks and slides, this collection brings fans into the offseason in style.”

Ward hasn’t only been focusing on his brand value, though. He didn’t participate in the East-West Shrine Bowl last week, but he still appeared as an interview-only prospect. He also won the Manning Award this week, which is the first-ever for a Miami QB.

“Hard work can do it, no matter what your journey is,” Ward said per CBS. “You’ve got to work. You’ve got to work hard, put one foot in front of the other, then just try to go make plays when you get on the field. I wish I had more time in Miami to be able to win a championship, whether it’s ACC or national. At the end of the day, I believe everything happens for a reason.

“And the teammates that I was surrounded by this year are the best group of teammates I’ve had, off the field more than on the field,” Ward continued. “The camaraderie we had, whether it was in the hotel or the locker room, that’s the thing I’m going to miss the most,” he added.

Ward received words of praise from the NFL legend Arch Manning himself after receiving the prestigious award, but now the Miami QB will turn his focus towards the upcoming combine in Indianapolis, Indiana.
