Yanic Konan Niederhäuser Bursts Onto the G League Elite Camp Stage

Selected as one of 45 draft-eligible prospects at the 2025 G League Elite Camp in Chicago (May 9–11), Niederhäuser immediately separated himself from the field with an eye-popping display of size and athleticism.

Known for his work ethic in Happy Valley, Niederhäuser entered the three-day showcase aiming to earn a coveted NBA Draft Combine invitation—an opportunity he looks to have firmly secured after two standout days of testing and scrimmage play.

At the camp’s measurement session, Niederhäuser officially checked in at just over 6’11” barefoot and 243 pounds, pairing his frame with a massive 7’3″ wingspan and a 9’3″ standing reach.

He then backed up those tools with explosion, posting a camp-best 33½-inch standing vertical jump and a max vertical of 37 inches—figures that rank in the 94th percentile among all prospects and are among the highest ever recorded by a center at this event.

In his team’s opening scrimmage, Niederhäuser translated his testing numbers into on-court production, pouring in 17 points on a sequence of thunderous dunks and polished face-up finishes while adding four rebounds and two blocks in 21:59 of action.

As Jon Chepkevich of Rookie Scale tweeted, “Penn State’s Yanic Konan Niederhäuser is the early star of the G League Elite Camp. 6’11¼″ barefoot, 243 lbs w/ a 7’3¼″ wingspan, 9′3″ standing reach, and GLE-best 33½″ standing vert. 17 PTS, 4 REB, 2 BLK in scrimmage action.”

Elite Measurements and Two-Way Skill Fuel Combine Buzz

Niederhäuser’s combination of length and mobility has drawn rave reviews from scouts, who view his physical profile as tailor-made for the modern NBA’s switch-heavy defenses.

According to the official release, “a select number of standout players from this event will also be invited to participate in the 2025 NBA Draft Combine later in the week,” and few have made a stronger case than Niederhäuser.

Beyond raw metrics, observers have been impressed by Niederhäuser’s feel and fluidity. As Hoop Rumors noted, “The Penn State forward looks like a safe bet to be among the players who advance to the [Draft] Combine,” thanks to his ability to protect the rim, finish in traffic, and make the extra pass out of double teams.

A recent scouting report added that he “is close to an elite protector of the rim, with more in his arsenal” and projects as a versatile big who can carve out a role at the next level.

With the NBA Draft Combine set for May 11–18 in Chicago, Niederhäuser will have a chance to confirm his ascendant stock in front of all 30 front offices.

Jonathan Givony of ESPN expects “about five-to-eight prospects” from the Elite Camp to earn combine invites, and all signs point to Niederhäuser being among them—a testament to both his physical ceiling and steady production at Penn State, where he averaged 12.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game in 2024–25.

Niederhäuser’s rare blend of size, length, and two-way polish has made him the breakout performer of the 2025 G League Elite Camp, virtually assuring him a spot at the upcoming NBA Draft Combine and positioning him as one of the most intriguing big-man prospects in this year’s draft cycle.
