Who Is Tracy Wolfson’s Husband? A Look at David Reichel’s Life and Career

While CBS Sports reporter Tracy Wolfson delivers courtside coverage on some of the biggest stages in sports—including today’s national championship between Houston and Florida—her husband, David Reichel, has built a successful career in finance while serving as the foundation of their family life.

The couple’s story began after their time at the University of Michigan. Following Tracy’s graduation in 1997, they were married on New Year’s Eve in 2001 and have now been together for more than 23 years. As Tracy travels the country covering the NFL and NCAA, David balances a full-time job with raising their three sons in Tenafly, New Jersey.

From Michigan to Barclays: David Reichel’s Career

David Reichel, born Sept. 11, 1974, graduated from Michigan in 1996 with a degree in economics. A year later, Tracy completed her degree in communications. Reichel went on to earn an MBA in finance and economics from NYU’s Stern School of Business in 2001.

Unlike his high-profile wife, Reichel has kept a lower profile while building a career in finance. He currently works as a senior salesperson in the equity derivatives group at Barclays Capital, where he manages relationships with asset management firms and handles complex financial instruments.

In 2019, he returned to Michigan to speak to students in the university’s “Economics at Work” lecture series, sharing his experience in the industry.

The Family Man Behind the Scenes

At home, the Reichel-Wolfson household runs on teamwork. While Tracy covers major events, David helps manage life at home with their three sons—Dylan, Ari and Evan—now approximately 18, 15, and 13 years old in 2025.

Tracy has often credited David’s support as vital to her career. In a 2016 interview with The Jewish Standard, she said, “I couldn’t do it without my husband’s support. I travel so much,” underscoring the role he plays in their day-to-day life.

Reichel also coaches at least one of his sons’ basketball teams. Tracy once posted on social media about David and one of their sons winning a U-10 championship, jokingly calling it their own “March Madness.”

Though he stays out of the spotlight, Tracy often describes David as supportive and devoted to family. In a 2019 anniversary post, she called him “the best husband, father and friend,” reflecting the close bond they share.

The couple lives in Tenafly, where they’ve built a support system that helps manage Tracy’s busy schedule. David enjoys sports, table tennis, golf and watching Michigan Wolverines games.

While estimates suggest David’s net worth is around $2 million from his finance career—compared to Tracy’s estimated $3 million to $5 million from broadcasting and endorsements—the couple is known for prioritizing family over lifestyle. Their partnership reflects a steady balance of professional success and family values.
