Hurley Jr. joined the ASU Sun Devils in 2021. Over his first two seasons, he played slightly over a minute a game. Despite his humble statistics, his dedication to his team and the sport is unshakable.
Playing for a coach who happens to be your father poses a special challenge. Bobby Jr. must strike a balance between his goals and the expectations imposed on him as a coach’s son.
His father is well-known for his fiery teaching approach, making it difficult to distinguish between the player-coach dynamic and the father-son connection.
However, Hurley Jr. has accepted the challenge, working hard to establish himself as a player rather than simply “the coach’s son.”
While Hurley Jr. has yet to emerge as a prominent player for ASU, his commitment to the sport and his team is apparent. Many believe that as he gets experience and confidence, he will be able to contribute more substantively to the unit in subsequent seasons.
