According to Joe Tipton, a national recruiting analyst, Sam Houston shooting guard Lamar Wilkerson plans to visit Indiana, along with Ole Miss, Kentucky, and Auburn.

Wilkerson is one of the most highly coveted guards in the 2025 transfer portal. In the 24/25 season, he averaged 20.5 points and 4 rebounds for the Sam Houston Bearkats. He shot 44.5% from beyond the arc in 2025 and is a career 40% 3-point shooter.
He is a wanted man in the portal, and his representatives have announced that he’ll be visiting four schools. Although a visit doesn’t necessarily mean commitment, these programs will do everything they can to lock him down.
Indiana Hoosiers
Wilkerson fits the mould of player that Indiana’s new head coach Darian DeVries likes to have on his teams, someone who can score in a variety of ways. And with the entire roster bouncing up on Devries announcement, he has the opportunity to mould the roster in his image.
Since his appointment, DeVries has brought point guard Conor Enright, forward Reed Bailey and his son Tucker DeVries to Indiana. Indiana are considered to be favorites for his commitment.
Kentucky Wildcats
Mark Pope and his Kentucky coaching staff have already landed quality players in the transfer portal including Jaden Quaintance who just committed. It looks like Pope wants another guard with elite shooting abilities. Wilkerson has one season of eligibility left and is a target for Kentucky.
Auburn Tigers
Wilkerson is arguably the best transfer available and is considered one of the best shooting guards to enter the portal. Auburn made it to the final four of the 2025 NCAA tournament and it comes as no surprise that they are on Wilkerson’s list.

Ole Miss Rebels
Ole Miss are also on Wilkerson’s list of schools. The rebels reach the Sweet 16 round of the 2025 NCAA tournament and it seems head coach, Chris Beard is building something special in Mississippi. Beard will be looking to pitch his proposal when Wilkerson comes visiting.
