    Potential destinations for Sam Brown

“A few weeks ago, I could have never imagined finishing my college career other than the University of Pennsylvania,” Brown wrote. “The recent coaching change has led me to consider whether there might be other options to combine my passions as a student, athlete, and competitor.”

Brown led the Ivy League in points per game during conference play and was named to the All-Ivy second team, the only freshman or sophomore to earn All-Ivy honors. Brown stated that he could return to Penn, but he wants to use the portal to evaluate his options.

With Brown officially entering the portal, the son of San Antonio Spurs assistant coach Brett Brown isn’t short of suitors. Schools like Northwestern, Stanford, Davidson, Notre Dame, Boston College, and Saint Joseph’s are rumored to be interested in his services.

    Stanford

The Cardinals basketball season came to an end on March 23 when they lost 77-75 to Kent State in the second round of the NIT. Since then, they’ve lost guard Oziyah Sellers, who declared for the NBA draft and is also entering the transfer portal.

Stanford could be looking at Brown as a potential replacement for Sellers.

    Davidson

Davidson is a small basketball program looking to make its mark in the college football world. Its last NCAA appearance was in 2022. They also lost 6’4 guard Mike Loughnane, who transferred to NorthEastern this offseason.

Davidson could look to the Ivy League leading scorer to boost their program for the upcoming season.

    Notre Dame

Notre Dame is currently struggling, with a record of 28-38 in two years under head coach Micah Shrewsbury. They could use a player of Brown’s quality, and it’s no surprise that they’re linked to him.

    Boston College

Boston College lost some players to the transfer portal, and they’re looking for replacements. Guards Chas Kelly, Dion Brown, and Joshua Beadle all entered the portal, leaving Boston with gaps to fill.

Boston is reported to be among Brown’s offers, and with Penn finishing with a losing record this season, Brown could look to join a program with a winning record.

Saint Joseph’s and Northwestern are two other colleges rumored to be interested in security Brown’s services.
