North Carolina Tar Heels coach Hubert Davis has reportedly shown interest in Quinn Costello from the high school class of 2026. Davis and the entire Tar Heels coaching staff have been busy this offseason, extending offers to as many as 17 players in high school, as well as garnering transfer portal additions, such as Jonathan Powell and Jaydin Young.
According to an article published by Aidan Jensen of the Tar Heels Wire on Monday, July 21, Costello was asked what he is seeking for his college basketball program with regard to the offer he received from coach Davis and UNC. Costello said he is looking at the overall connection he can have with Davis and his coaching staff, as he hopes that they can help him grow his game.
“I think the big thing for me is the relationship I have with the coach and the coaching staff. I find myself being the most successful in systems and programs where the relationships between the players and the coaches are super strong. I think a strong bond and trust between them is important,” Costello was quoted as saying.
Costello is currently a four-star recruit, ranked as the No. 72 prospect nationally, as per 247Sports.
The Boston, Massachusetts, native will play out his senior year of high school hoops for The Newman School, and he has received offers from collegiate programs, such as the Florida State Seminoles and the Illinois Fighting Illini, apart from the Tar Heels.
