Chris Paul recently got handed some shocking news, and he announced that news to the world in an even more bizarre fashion. The Clippers released Chris Paul, effective immediately, after their loss to the Miami Heat.
CP3 was obviously taken aback by this and broke the news via his Instagram story, which said, “Just Found Out I’m Being Sent Home” with a peace emoji. Chris Paul had also just announced his retirement after an illustrious career of 22 years at the end of the season. After a short stint with Stephen Curry’s Warriors, CP3 returned to LA with the Clippers after 8 years.
People were confused about the reason behind “sending Paul home”. However, reports suggest it was something that was a beloved quality of Chris Paul, which created differences between him, Ty Lue and the organisation.
Chris Paul and his leadership style clashed with the Clippers, sources tell ESPN. Paul has been vocal in holding management, coaches and players accountable, which the team felt became disruptive. Specifically: Ty Lue was not on speaking terms with Paul for several weeks.

Clippers Management Shock Chris Paul and Teammates
The NBA world was in shock to learn of this shocking decision by the Clippers’ management. One would assume that such a decision would be known at least by the players themselves. However, that wasn’t the case.
Sources: Clippers were stuck at Miami airport yesterday for nearly 6 hours due to mechanical issues, which significantly delayed team’s arrival to ATL. A long travel day following another bad loss ended with teammates finding out in middle of night of Chris Paul’s departure.

Chris Haynes reported that the whole of the Clippers team, supposedly even Ty Lue, who had his differences with Paul, were unaware of the big decision.
