As the college basketball transfer portal has opened and the season comes to a close for most of the programs, we’re here to document what the Texas A&M Aggies are set to lose — and what they may potentially gain.

Players Leaving Texas A&M
Wade Taylor IV — the school’s all-time leading scorer, Taylor IV averaged 15.7 ppg and dished out 4.3 apg in 2024-25, leading the team in scoring and providing huge clutch baskets across his entire four-year career. Taylor IV will soon graduate and is expected to enter his name into the NBA Draft.
Henry Coleman III — an enforcer down low, the fifth-year senior averaged 7.5 ppg and 5.5 rpg this season while providing veteran leadership. He will graduate and move on from the Texas A&M program.
Rob Dockery — to date, the only Aggie to enter the transfer portal, Dockery appeared in only one game this season, scoring two points on 1 of four shooting against the UCF Knights in November. A three-star recruit in the 2024 class, Dockery is expected to have multiple suitors as a length 6’6″ swingman.
Players Joining Texas A&M
With former head coach Buzz Williams taking the Maryland Terrapins’ job in early April, the Aggies got off to a slower start in terms of adding transfer portal talent. However, new head coach Bucky McMillan has added two transfers to the roster along with speculation of others soon to come.
Jacari Lane — a North Alabama transfer, Lane averaged 17.3 points and 4.0 assists. He scored in double figures in each of his three seasons with the Lions.
Zach Clemence — the former Kansas Jayhawk joins the Aggies in an effort to provide production down low. A 6’11” junior, Clemence is largely unproven, scoring just 1.7 points and 1.5 rebounds per game in his career.
Impact on Team
McMillan being late to the party is certainly a huge hit for the Texas A&M program. That comes in addition to the losses of Taylor and several big men who have also entered the portal.
Clemence was added in hopes of replacing that production, although he has failed to play much of a role for the Jayhawks in three seasons.
Lane is capable of handling the ball and could be in that role full time for the Aggies. He’s a definite step down from Taylor but could serve a similar role.
Future Outlook
It’s cloudy, to say the least. The hiring of McMillan was met with questions, as he last coached for the Samford Bulldogs.
His rather late hiring also put the Aggies in major jeopardy of not recouping the production lost due to graduation and the portal.

This is sometimes the way college basketball goes, as it looks like it’ll be a couple seasons before McMillan can restore the talent to the Aggies program.
