Indiana Pacers legend Reggie Miller believes Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry’s all-time three-pointer record can be broken by rookie Kon Knueppel. On Tuesday, Nov. 25, Miller appeared on “The Dan Patrick Show.” Apart from several NBA-related matters, he was asked about his thoughts on Charlotte Hornets guard Knueppel, who is in his first year.
Not only did Miller tip him to win the Rookie of the Year award at the end of the 2025-26 season, but he also believes Knueppel can break Curry’s three-pointer record that currently sits at over 4000 and counting. Miller pointed to the rate at which Knueppel is sinking in three-pointers in just his first season and compared it to Curry’s rate in his debut season.
“He’s winning Rookie of the Year…He’s winning Rookie of the Year and dare I say this, is Stephen Curry going to be a little nervous? In about 15 years…Yes (on the three-point totals), they could just go back and look at Steph’s first two or three years in terms of three-pointers made, and what Kon has done this year. Just look at their first years, I’m just saying,” Miller claimed. (0:06)
Before retiring from the NBA in 2005 after an 18-year career, Miller was hailed by many as one of the greatest shooters of all time. He had the most three-pointers at the time, 2,560. This was dethroned by Curry, who is now in his 17th year in the league. The Warriors have a 10-9 overall record, while Knueppel and the Hornets have a lowly 4-13 standing.

Reggie Miller Lays Down What Kon Knueppel Will Have To Do To Break Stephen Curry’s 3-Pointer Record
To surpass arguably the greatest shooter of all time, Stephen Curry’s three-pointer record, Kon Knueppel will have to stay healthy for more than 15 years in his career, according to Reggie Miller.
“But here’s the problem, you got to stay healthy, longevity. 17 years, 18 years for Stephen Curry, can Kon Knueppel do that over a long period of time? I wanna see it, and Kon’s doing it in Charlotte. Charlotte. Oh, yeah, that might be a place too,” Miller said on the same show. (0:43)
