It’s only the beginning of May and there’s still a lot of time before the 25/26 basketball season kicks off, but way-too-early rankings and predictions are already rolling in and analysts are beginning to discuss it. Both On3 and ESPN released updated rankings based on what has occurred up to this point during the offseason.
After failing to appear in this year’s NCAA tournament, it would appear that On3 and ESPN analysts do not rate or expect big things from the Wolfpack next season. NC State didn’t even make ESPN’s Jeff Borzello’s list.

PJ Haggerty’s Commitment Might Not Be Enough for NC State.
PJ Haggerty has been invited to the draft combine and remains in the portal, but it is rumored that he might be transferring to NC State after spending the last season with Memphis.
Haggerty was named the AAC conference player of the year. He led the conference in scoring with 21.2 points per game, was third in steals with 1.8 per game, and ninth in assists with 3.8 per game during the regular season. Although it seems like his potential addition won’t do much put Will Wade and NC State in the top 25.

Seeing that NC State didn’t make Borzello’s top 25, a fan asked him if PJ Haggerty’s commitment would alter his list, and he simply replied, “At quick glance, I don’t think so.”
Haggerty, a former five-star prospect in the college basketball recruiting Class of 2022, has yet to play more than one season with the same program. The Texas-native started at TCU, transferred to Tulsa, and then transferred again to Memphis.
This is his third time in the transfer portal in four years, and he is searching for his fourth different program in four years.
It is reported that his top offer is less than what he’s asking for from interested teams. While Haggerty is currently focused on the draft combine, it is expected that Haggerty will ultimately withdraw his name from the NBA Draft pool and return to college.
