Boston Celtics legend and 2008 NBA Finals MVP Paul Pierce was recently charged with criminal activity in Los Angeles. As reported by @TheDunkCentral on X/Twitter on Thursday, Oct. 9, Pierce was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
A report by Chris Cwik, published on Yahoo! Sports, claims that Pierce was arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 7, by the California Highway Patrol. Pierce was found sleeping behind the wheel of his Range Rover on one of the freeways in Los Angeles around 10:30 p.m. He was discovered when patrol officers were investigating a prior crash in the area, as they noticed a car stopped in one of the lanes of the road.

Patrol officers felt that there were clear signs that Pierce was intoxicated, leading to the suspicion of a DUI. He was arrested and will be presented to the Los Angeles City Attorney for further review and evaluation to determine whether the 47-year-old is guilty of the charge. Nevertheless, Pierce did not cause any harm to others or to himself.
Pierce retired from the NBA in 2017 with the LA Clippers after a 19-season career in the league. Besides being the 2008 NBA Finals MVP, which was his lone championship berth, Pierce was a 10-time All-Star, one-time member of the All-NBA Second Team, three-time member of the All-NBA Third Team, and a part of the NBA 75th Anniversary team a couple of years ago.
He played college basketball for the Kansas Jayhawks for three seasons from 1995 to 1998, and was best known for his success in the Big 12 conference, both individually and team-wise. He was named as a consensus first-team All-American in his final year before being drafted in 1998 by the Celtics with the 10th overall pick in the first round.

Paul Pierce Went Viral In May Of This Year For Walking 20 Miles To Work
In May of this year, the 2024-25 Boston Celtics lost to the New York Knicks in Game 2 of the 2025 Eastern Conference Semifinals on their home floor.
Prior to this, Paul Pierce made a bold announcement during the ‘FS1’ show that if the Celtics lose, he’ll walk to work, which is FS1, the next day. Sure enough, the Celtics great was a man of his word and posted pictures and videos of his walking journey on social media as proof.
