Jamichael Stillwell Has Locked in 6 Finalists for His Potential Landing Spot

Stillwell has caught the eye of Oklahoma, West Virginia, UCF, Memphis, Virginia, and Xavier. On Tuesday, he shared his final six with College Basketball Content, hinting at an upcoming decision. “Oklahoma, West Virginia, UCF, Memphis, Virginia, Xavier,” he told them, keeping his cards close but his options clear.

At Milwaukee, he averaged 13.0 points and 10.7 rebounds per game, ranking seventh in Division I for boards. His 16 double-doubles tied for 11th nationally, and his 333 total rebounds placed him 14th.

The Atlanta native’s path to prominence wasn’t typical. He started at Miami Dade College, then sharpened his skills at Butler Community College in Kansas. He started 29 of 31 games this season at Milwaukee, earning Horizon League Newcomer of the Year and All-League First Team honors.

His motor in the paint was relentless, with 40 steals, 12 blocks, and a 24-point, 19-rebound explosion against Green Bay. A season-high 26 points against Robert Morris only boosted his stock.

Memphis is pushing hard to land him. Sources say the Tigers are arranging a visit, eyeing Stillwell to fill the void left by Nick Jourdain, whose eligibility ran dry. With Tyrese Hunter, Colby Rogers, and Moussa Cisse also departing, coach Penny Hardaway faces a roster overhaul.

Eight scholarships sit open, and Stillwell’s style fits the bill. Visits to Oklahoma and UCF are also in the works; Virginia’s Ryan Odom might also snag a meeting.

Stillwell’s game isn’t perfect. His 28.6% 3-point shooting and 56.2% free-throw clip need polish. Yet his effort shines through 6.77 defensive rebounds and 3.97 offensive rebounds per game, ranking him among the nation’s best.

That hustle helped Milwaukee secure second in the Horizon League, though they fell to Oakland in the tournament quarterfinals.

With one year of eligibility left, Stillwell’s choice carries weight. An NCAA ruling on community college transfers could extend his time, but nothing’s set. Virginia, meanwhile, is juggling other targets like VCU’s Brandon Jennings and Nevada’s Nick Davidson.

Memphis has PJ Haggerty and Dante Harris returning, plus two incoming guards. Stillwell’s decision could hinge on fit, minutes, or a chance to shine in March. Wherever he lands, expect rebounds and plenty of them.
