The college basketball transfer portal never stops, so teams will always look in and see who they can snag. Several elite athletes in college basketball have changed programs, which will totally reshape the basketball world. As of April 26, these are the most recent advancements.
The transfer portal features numerous impressive guard and forward commitments and intense speculative activity. These programs are restructuring their rosters to capitalize on new opportunities to profit from the modifications and optimize their upcoming season results.

Transfer Portal News: Duncan Powell, Chad Baker-Mazara Steal the Spotlight
Duncan Powell’s journey is like a plot twist nobody saw coming. The 6’8″ Georgia Tech forward, who averaged 12.2 points and 5.4 rebounds, initially committed to Georgetown but flipped to Providence on April 21.
He had seven 20-point games, including 24 against Duke, and brings proven scoring to Kim English’s frontcourt. His move signals Providence’s intent to dominate next season in the Big East.
Powell, a versatile forward with proven scoring ability, fits perfectly with Kim English’s aggressive retooling. The Friars’ late-season wins, including over Clemson and Louisville, show a program on the rise heading into 2025–26.
Meanwhile, Chad Baker-Mazara, Auburn’s 6’7″ senior guard, entered the transfer portal on April 17, leaving jaws dropped. Averaging 12.3 points and playing a key role in Auburn’s Final Four. Providence is among the teams circling, with Jeff Goodman noting interest from Arkansas, Kentucky, and Ole Miss.
On Monday, April 28, though, Baker-Mazara announced his transfer to USC, where he will join Eric Musselman’s Trojans.
On April 17, Texas Tech guard Kevin Overton committed to Auburn after transferring from Drake. While there, Overton averaged 11.3 points per game, but his role on a potential Final Four-caliber team at Auburn remains uncertain. Perhaps he’ll step up and fill Baker-Mazara’s role.
