    Blake Harper Commits to Creighton

A former Howard Bison guard, Harper announced his official transfer portal destination after his freshman season in the MEAC. He has committed to Creighton over offers from Ohio State and LSU.

In his only season with Howard, Harper recorded 19.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game. He was the Bison’s most consistent starter throughout the college basketball season.

He earned 18 consecutive MEAC Rookie of the Week honors with 29 double-digit performances, which included five 30-point games on the season.

Harper was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year.

Harper joins a Creighton transfer portal class that is currently ranked eighth overall. The bluejays are adding Harper to a class that already has Iowa standouts Owen Freeman and Josh Dix, former Charlotte point guard Nik Graves, and Miami shooting guard Austin Schwartz.

Creighton basketball is also expecting the return of some players from the past season, including freshman standout Jackson McAndrew and key rotation players from last year, such as Fedor Zugic and Isaac Traudt.

Many teams within the Big East Conference are performing very well in the transfer portal this offseason, and Creighton is trying to keep, although their head coach, Gregg McDermott, has a track record of reloading his rosters instead of rebuilding them.

St. John’s and UConn are the headliners this year, and they look like the teams to beat once again.
