Khan, who is set to graduate in the fall with a degree in sports management, will interview with at least five NBA teams during the Scouting Combine for a potential role as a “team attendant.” His journey from student manager to a sought-after figure in professional basketball began with a viral video that captivated fans nationwide.
On February 22, 2025, Khan led the McNeese State Cowboys onto the court, carrying a boombox and rapping along to “In & Out” by Lud Foe. The electrifying moment, caught on camera, quickly gained traction on social media, earning him the nickname “Aura.”
His popularity surged throughout March Madness as McNeese State, a No. 12 seed, upset Clemson in the first round before falling to Purdue.
Khan’s newfound fame also translated into financial success. During the team’s tournament run, he surpassed $100,000 in NIL earnings, securing endorsement deals with Buffalo Wild Wings, TickPick, and Insomnia Cookies. His status as the first student manager to land such deals further cemented his place in college basketball history.
In an interview with Barstool Sports’ KFC Radio, Khan acknowledged the possibility of joining an NBA team.
“Definitely, you know,” he said. “That’s a dream of mine. So, for sure. If an NBA team approaches me after all this, I would definitely consider it.”
