Luka Doncic has started the season in red-hot form. He is averaging 34.5 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 8.9 assists per game. This is by far the best start to a season for him in his career. While the LA Lakers were missing LeBron James due to injury, Luka stepped up and led them well. Even without LeBron, Luka’s dominance has kept the Lakers afloat.
After getting traded by the Dallas Mavericks, Doncic was distraught. However, that did not deter him from playing his brand of basketball in LA. He publicly expressed how much Dallas meant to him and certainly wanted to spend more time there.
Doncic has grabbed the Lakers’ opportunity with both hands. Even last season, Luka averaged 28.8 points in 28 games for the Lakers. Now, partnering with Austin Reaves in the absence of LeBron James, Doncic has showcased his brilliance in the first 12 games of this season, so much so that he has entered the NBA history books.
Luka Doncic has already reached 414 points and 107 assists this season in just 12 games. He has become the only player with over 400 points and 100 assists in the first 12 games of the NBA season. No other player has achieved this feat, not even the legends of the game like LeBron James, Michael Jordan, Stephen Curry, and many others.

Luka Doncic Reacts to Lakers’ Shooting Struggles
LeBron and Luka both showed confidence in their team as the Lakers lack efficiency in their shooting. LeBron showed trust in his teammates and said the bad phase would pass, as they have too many good shooters for it to continue.
Luka also voiced his opinion when a reporter asked him about the Lakers’ inconsistent shooting after a win against the Utah Jazz. He said:
“I think we have each other’s back. Everybody has each other’s back. Uh like I said, you know, great teams got to got to find a got to find a way to win. Uh today by far was not, like I said, our best game and we found a way to win.”
