Pat Kelsey and Louisville basketball landed two commitments from the class of 2025: one was their historic commitment from the consensus five-star Mikel Brown Jr., and the other is the 6’11” recruit Sananda Fru.
Brown is the second-highest recruit to commit to Louisville, according to 247Sports. He was a McDonald’s All-American and was ranked as high as the No. 1 point guard in the class of 2025, while Fru is expected to be a crucial addition to the Cardinals’ 2025-26 roster, as the 6’11” forward is projected to be the Cardinals’ starting center next season.

Louisville Commit Sananda Fru’s 2026 NBA Draft Stock Soars Ahead of First College Season
Sananda Fru has been competing with Lowen Braunschweig in the BBL since the 2020-21 season. He is averaging 12.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game this season, and he’s expected to join Louisville ahead of the 25/26 campaign.
Sananda Fru is a criminally underrated prospect in the 2026 NBA Draft class. He has committed to Louisville.
At 6’11”, 245 lbs out of Germany, Fru is an agile, high-motor combo forward who makes use of his massive frame to finish strong at the rim.

On Monday, the BBL announced that Fru was officially named the Basketball Bundesliga’s Best German Young Player after his impressive 2024-25 season. This further demonstrated the talents he’s bringing to Louisville next season.
He also has international experience with the German National Team, having played in the 2022 and 2023 FIBA U20 European Championships.
Fru is expected to be a member of the 2026 draft class, and some analysts have projected him as a second-round pick.
He will look to be a crucial addition to the Louisville roster next season, especially after James Scott entered the transfer portal. The German forward has a 7’5″ wingspan and will be a dominant two-way forward who is extremely athletic for his size.

Fru is ranked as high as the No. 25 overall player in the nation, and the sixth-best power forward, according to 247Sports.
Louisville has the sixth-best odds to win the National Championship in 2026. Fru and Brown will be very important if Pat Kelsey and Louisville want to cut down the nets next year.
