The Cleveland Browns secured a crucial win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, with Shedeur Sanders as the starting QB. Many consider Sanders might have played his way to the NFL spotlight, becoming the first Browns quarterback to win his debut start since 1999.
He sure had some spectacular moments in this 24-10 win, completing about 55% of his passes, including a 66-yard touchdown pass to running back Dylan Sampson. The conversations about the Browns committing to starting Sanders as the first QB are now all over the place. Congratulatory messages started pouring in from all directions, even the NBA. LeBron James was among the first to express his delight.
On the other hand, the Cleveland Cavaliers secured a 120-105 win against the LA Clippers on the same day. It was a great day to be a Cleveland sports fan, with wins coming in from all sides. Cavaliers stars Tristan Thompson and Donovan Mitchell took the opportunity to congratulate Shedeur Sanders on the amazing win against the Raiders after their own win against the Clippers. Thompson posted a tweet on X, writing:
“Always a great Sunday when the
@Browns
get a victory. Way to play
@ShedeurSanders.”

Mitchell was also up celebrating the moment. In a video captured by ESPN at the tunnel, Mitchell was holding his wrist just like Sanders did after ending the Browns’ three-game losing streak. He later told the reporters:
“I think I’m the most hyped in the locker room when talking about it. I said before the year started [that] he was going to start at some point.”
Mitchell had much love and praise to send to the rookie quarterback, who had just created history for Cleveland sports. He added:
“To see him have a good game and the team wins, that’s big time. [We] just want to show our support because he’s a talented player and he gets a lot of hate, a lot of unfair criticism and all that. But man, this kid’s phenomenal, and I hope he has a hell of a career. I’m a fan.”

The Browns are now 3-8 in the season and stand fourth in the AFC North. They will next be facing the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday. Sanders, once again, is expected to be the starting quarterback for this game.
How Did Shedeur Sanders Perform in his Debut Start?
Shedeur Sanders helped the Browns race to a 14-0 lead over the Las Vegas Raiders. He was a crucial figure in the 24-10 victory, which helped the Browns break their three-game losing streak and secure their third win of the season.
Sanders completed 11-of-20 passes for 209 yards, had one touchdown, and one interception. With his performance on Sunday, it became clear that the Browns finally have a reliable QB capable of making plays when things seem to break down. Although Sanders has faced some bumps to start his rookie career, the confidence and composure he brings to the offense are qualities that could benefit Cleveland greatly in the long run.
