“LeBron James’ Feelings Will Be Hurt Again”: Fans React As Lakers Face Serious Allegations from NBA Journalist

The LA Lakers, led by four-time NBA champion LeBron James, were allegedly proactive in preventing the release of a journalist’s book. On Monday, Oct. 27, NBA journalist and analyst Yaron Weitzman, through an Instagram post by @yahoosports, claimed that the Lakers franchise tried to halt the release of his book “A Hollywood Ending: The Dreams and Drama of the LeBron Lakers.”

Weitzman also detailed that the Los Angeles-based team hired defamation lawyer Marty Singer, as they threatened to sue the journalist. The news comes amid the ongoing gambling and mafia scandals in the NBA, with Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier, Portland Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups, and former Cleveland Cavaliers player Damon Jones making headlines.

Some users were quick to defend both James and the Lakers organization, who are just protecting their image.

“I’ve always felt when someone writes a book about a person that they should have to have legal authorization from the person. There is so much lying in the world today that people can just put anything in a book about that person’s life and their business dealings,” one fan explained.

“It’s always somebody waiting to try and tell all the ‘business’ for money. It sucks,” another fan wrote.

According To LA Lakers’ Lawyer, Yaron Weitzman’s Book Was Full Of Negative Bias

In the caption of @yahoosports on Instagram’s post, an excerpt from the statement of the hired lawyer by the LA Lakers, Marty Singer, was included.

For Singer, the content that Weitzman wrote about the Lakers in his book was full of negative bias that could defame the franchise’s image.

“Full of thinly-veiled misogynistic smears, revealing a chauvinism and negative bias that undermines the reliability of [his] sources,” Singer was quoted as saying.
