“I Hope He Doesn’t Win an NBA Championship”: LeBron James’ HC JJ Redick Jokingly Wishes to Taint Chris Paul’s Legacy Due to 1 Reason

Chris Paul is one of the greats of the game. He has been in the league for over 20 years now. Recently, he announced his retirement at the age of 40. He confirmed on social media that he will hang up his boots at the end of the season.

After the announcement, LeBron James and the LA Lakers’ head coach, JJ Redick, commented on his former teammate Paul’s NBA legacy. CP3 and Redick shared the court during their time at the Clippers. When asked about Paul’s legacy, Redick joked about a lack of an NBA title in his trophy cabinet and how he would wish to keep it that way.

“I hate saying this. I hope he never wins an NBA championship ’cause that would mean the Clippers winning the NBA championship and we don’t,” Redick laughed and said.

“But to me he is the ultimate winner and I have said this. There’s a guy that works in the NBA I’ve known for almost 20 years now and we talk about this all the time. There’s guys that have won championships that I wouldn’t say are winning players. There’s guys that have never won a championship, to me, are the ultimate winners and that’s who Chris Paul is. He is the ultimate winner,” Redick added.

Fans React to JJ Redick’s Joke About Chris Paul’s Legacy

Fans were hysterical after Redick’s wish for CP3’s final season in the NBA.

“We don’t gotta worry about that,” one fan commented about Clippers’ NBA championship chances.

“Love hearing that from a former Clipper,” one fan joked.

“The league should have let him join Kobe when he had the chance,” one fan reminisced.

“Well with OKC and Denver neither LA team is winning anything,” another said.

“I mean it won’t happen,” another fan said about Clippers’ chances of a NBA title this season.

“JJ trust me… you’re good,” one fan reassured.

“The Clippers ain’t winning nothing,” another replied.

“This guy literally played for the clippers,” one fan said.

To be fair to the fans, the Clippers are in a tight spot. With a 5-12 record, chances for a surge towards the title seem low. Only a miracle can save Chris Paul’s last season in the league.
