LaMelo Ball has been in the news since rumors of unrest with the Charlotte Hornets spread. There was reportedly some frustration from Ball’s side as he felt he was not given a fair chance to showcase his talent. Despite the hype leading up to the season, the Hornets have a poor record of 4-11. They have now lost four games in a row.
The season took a turn for the worse when rumors started spreading that LaMelo Ball wanted to leave the team. However, recently LaMelo put an end to the rumors once and for all.
“It never came from me. The source is not from me. It’s false info. Gotta let them know. And I really don’t like commenting on this stuff but when you get too big you gotta talk. I love being here [Charlotte]. In hindsight, I am just tryna win. That’s it. That’s all we gonna keep doing,” he said.

LaMelo Ball was drafted by the Charlotte Hornets in 2021. Coming from a basketball family, Ball had a lot of expectations on his shoulders. He has maintained an average of over 21 points throughout his career. In nine games this season, Ball has averaged 21.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 9.6 assists.
Fans React to LaMelo Ball’s Admission
Fans were divided after Ball cleared up trade rumors and confessed his happiness in Charlotte.
“Yeah Luka thought he was safe too, nice try Melo,” one fan compared Luka Doncic’s trade from Dallas Mavericks to LaMelo Ball’s situation in Charlotte.
“He avoiding that fine,” one fan speculated.
“He’s definitely capping,” another claimed.
“Charlotte gonna pay him so he staying,” one fan said.
“Pls Golden State. Make a move,” another commented.
“As a Hornets fan … we are open to him being traded,” another replied.
Hornets are in a tough spot right now. Any hope for the Charlotte faithful is certainly on the shoulders of LaMelo Ball. Fans would be happy with LaMelo’s statement, as they still have their star man on the team.
