Arkansas Razorback Karter Knox Invited To NBA Draft Combine: 5 Possible Landing Spots

Sometime in April, Karter Knox announced on his Instagram account that he is going through the NBA Draft process while maintaining his college eligibility. Knox’s decision will allow him the chance to get feedback from NBA scouts and work out for teams. He’ll also see what he needs to work on if he returns to Arkansas next season.

The star freshman will have until May 28 to withdraw from the NBA Draft and return to school. He didn’t enter the transfer portal, so he will return to Arkansas if he withdraws from the draft.

Five Potential Landing Spots for Karter Knox

Knox averaged 13.7 points and 5.0 rebounds across three NCAA Tournament games for Arkansas last season, including a 20-point, six-rebound performance against  Texas Tech in the Sweet 16. Let’s look at his potential destinations if he decides to follow through with the draft.

    Detroit Pistons

After winning 14 games last season, Detroit became the first team to triple its win total in one season and became only the sixth team in history to increase its win total by at least 30. The Pistons have worked on their defense but will need shooting to surround Cade Cunningham. Knox could be a valuable depth option.

    Milwaukee Bucks

Milwaukee has failed to advance past the first round a third straight season and won 48 games this year, the fewest for the franchise since 2017-18. The Bucks were successful toward the end of the season when Milwaukee surrounded Giannis Antetokounmpo with the shooting of Gary Trent, Kevin Porter, and AJ Green. They could look at Knox as a squad option.

    Miami Heat

This is the second straight year Miami has been eliminated in the first round and its first season below .500 since 2018-19. Heat went 12-21 after the Butler trade, ranking in the bottom 10 in offensive efficiency. They need perimeter shooters to surround Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo.

    Atlanta Hawks

Atlanta is shifting towards building a sustainable roster instead of being one-dimensional with Trae Young as the sole carrier of the franchise. The long-term vision has shifted toward young players, and Knox could be one of those who’ll end up in Atlanta.

    Sacramento Kings

Sacramento missed the playoffs for the eleventh time since 2013, and the squad’s state is currently in shambles. They currently do not have a head coach, and their star player, De’Aaron Fox, was traded midseason. They are also in need of perimeter shooters, and Knox could be an option.
