Kansas Basketball Transfer Portal: Full List of Players Entering and Exiting

Bill Self’s Kansas Jayhawks are facing a seismic shift in personnel following their disappointing first-round NCAA Tournament exit. With some starters departing, including standout Hunter Dickinson, who averaged 17.4 points per game, the Jayhawks are in full rebuild mode for the 2025-26 campaign.

The transfer portal has become both a blessing and a curse for blue blood programs. Kansas faces the challenge of replacing approximately 60-70 points per game from departed players while simultaneously mining the portal for experienced talents who can complement a highly touted freshman class led by No. 1 recruit Darryn Peterson.

    Players Leaving Kansas

    G AJ Storr

The junior guard entered the portal on April 3 after averaging just 6.1 points on 38.4% shooting—far below the 16.8 points he averaged at Wisconsin. Storr is seeking his fourth school in four years with one year of eligibility remaining.

    G Rylan Griffen

The junior guard entered the portal on March 31 after transferring from Alabama for the 2024-25 season. His underwhelming performance fell short of expectations set during his time with the Crimson Tide, creating another void in the backcourt.

    F Zach Clemence

The redshirt junior forward and Kansas native entered the portal on March 28 after seeing minimal playing time. The former Jayhawk will seek increased opportunities elsewhere with his final year of eligibility.

    G Rakease Passmore

The highly touted freshman announced his intent to transfer on March 30 after appearing in just 10 of 20 conference games. His situation remains fluid with a potential return to Lawrence not ruled out.

    G David Coit

The senior guard, who averaged 5.1 points at Kansas in 2024-25, entered the portal on March 31. Coit committed to Maryland on April 8 for his final season, joining coach Buzz Williams. He’s expected to be a key scorer for the Terrapins, filling a role similar to his high-scoring days at Northern Illinois.

    C Hunter Dickinson (Graduating)

The graduate center led Kansas with 17.4 PPG and 10.0 RPG before exhausting his eligibility after the 2024-25 season.

    G Dajuan Harris Jr. (Graduating)

The graduate guard completed his eligibility after serving as the team’s floor general throughout his Kansas career.

    G Zeke Mayo (Graduating)

The senior guard has exhausted his eligibility, creating another gap in scoring and leadership.

    F KJ Adams (Graduating)

The senior forward’s departure after completing his eligibility further depletes Kansas’s frontcourt experience.

    Players Joining Kansas

    G Jayden Dawson, Loyola Chicago

The Loyola Chicago guard committed to Kansas on April 4 and signed a financial aid agreement the next day. Dawson averaged 13.9 points and 3.1 rebounds per game in 2024-25 as an All-Atlantic 10 performer. His proven ability to create his own shot should help fill the offensive void left by departing seniors.

    G Tre White, Illinois

The Illinois guard committed to Kansas on April 5 and officially signed on April 7. White averaged 10.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in 2024-25 at Illinois. His Big Ten experience and physical style of play make him a valuable addition as Kansas rebuilds its rotation from scratch.

G Darryn Peterson (Incoming Recruit; Non-Transfer Portal)

The No. 1 recruit in the 2025 class was co-MVP of the McDonald’s All-American Game. Peterson projects as the team’s lead guard and potential 2026 NBA Draft top pick.

His elite scoring ability and playmaking skills give Kansas a true centerpiece to build around despite the mass exodus.

F Samis Calderon (Incoming Recruit; Non-Transfer Portal)

The four-star forward recruit adds depth to Kansas’s frontcourt for the upcoming season. Calderon’s versatility and athleticism should complement the returning Flory Bidunga in the frontcourt rotation.

F Bryson Tiller (Incoming Recruit; Non-Transfer Portal)

An early enrollee currently recovering from an ankle injury, Tiller is expected to contribute to the Jayhawks in the 2025-26 season.

His early arrival on campus gives him valuable time to learn Self’s system and recover fully before the season begins.

With five potential roster spots remaining and the April 22 portal deadline approaching, Kansas continues pursuing targets like Rodney Rice (Maryland), Melvin Council (St. Bonaventure), and RJ Luis Jr. (St. John’s).

Self’s “Moneyball” approach targets undervalued players who fit his system rather than chasing top-tier portal names.
