Auburn Star Johni Broome’s ‘LOSER’ Tattoo Discussed Amongst Fans

The Auburn basketball program has been in the spotlight all season, holding the No. 1 ranking in the AP Poll for most of the season. The headliner of the group has been Naismith National Player of the Year candidate Johni Broome, who established himself as one of the best players in the country throughout the entire season.

Along with leading the Tigers to a regular-season SEC title, Broome was named the SEC Player of the Year after averaging 18.7 ppg, 10.9 rpg, 2.9 apg, and 2.1 bpg — a dominant season in the most competitive conference that we’ve seen in recent history.

Now, Broome and Co. find themselves in the Final Four with a matchup against the Florida Gators on Saturday, April 5 at 6:09 p.m. ET.

During their run—in which the Tigers won the South Region—fans have expressed curiosity about a tattoo that’s showcased on Broome’s head, peering out behind his ear.

The tattoo appears to says “loser” — but a closer look shows that, over the “s”, is a “v.” A peculiar tattoo for someone who, much like many high-level athletes, certainly does not think of himself as a loser. But “lover” holds a much different meaning.

The contradictory tattoo leaves much up for interpretation, but Broome has never commented on the topic.

Clearly, the Tigers’ star is far from a loser, leading his team to the brink of a national championship.
