Jaxon Richardson Makes His Feelings Known on Watching His Brother Get Drafted by Their Dad’s Former NBA Team

Orlando Magic rookie Jase Richardson has now made his NBA Summer League debut and he has shown a lot of promise for his new team, which was also where his dad, former Slam Dunk Contest champ, Jason Richardson, also played for.  His brother, Jaxon Richardson, is seen to follow suit.

The Columbus Explorers star, who will have to carry his team after the Boozer Twins graduated to college, appeared in “The Field of 68 Next Gen Hoops” podcast and opened up, not just about his brother getting drafted, but playing for their dad’s old team in Orlando.

“It meant a lot to my family just being able to see my brother get drafted. He’s been working for this since he was born. Honestly, like soon as he was born, he was already with the basketball. So, just kind of seeing him go through this process and the amount of adversity he had to face to get there, it just kind of inspired me just to keep working,” said Jaxon Richardson.

“So just seeing him doing this, like I could like see just the process he went through and everything he went through that he had to get there. So I can just kind of take bits and pieces from what he did and apply it to me so I could try to make it where he’s at,” added Jaxon Richardson.

Jaxon Richardson is considered a five-star prospect, having won a state championship and the Chipotle National championship on the same year for the 2024-2025 season with Columbus. He has now trimmed down his choices to his top ten schools, and it does not include his dad and Jase’s alma mater, Michigan State. However, it does have Alabama, Michigan, Louisville, USC, Creighton, Miami, Ole Miss, Cincinnati, Villanova, and Seton Hall.
