All Fans Are Just Customers’ – Talk Show Host Jason Whitlock Slams NBA Culture After Ace Bailey Snubs Utah Jazz

Utah Jazz No. 5 pick Ace Bailey has found himself at the receiving end of a lot of criticism from experts, players, and fans alike, especially as he continues to snub the team that drafted him. More and more people are joining the chorus of criticisms for Bailey, including “Fearless” host Jason Whitlock, who was certainly not fond of the incoming rookie’s actions.

In his podcast, Whitlock talked about what Ace Bailey did before the draft, not working out with teams, canceling scheduled private workout sessions with the team with the No. 3 pick, Philadelphia, and refusing to talk to teams. This caused Bailey’s slide from No. 3 to No. 5, and his questionable actions continued after the Jazz drafted him.

Bailey had a list of preferred teams, being the Brooklyn Nets, the Washington Wizards and the New Orleans Pelicans, threatening teams he would not show up to practice if any other team drafted him. When the Jazz actually did, the incoming rookie made good on his threats and did not show up for his new team. This got Whitlock slamming Bailey on his show, saying that these actions are betraying NBA fans, who are the customers.

“No one cares, everything now is about messaging and agenda, and that’s where the customer, that’s all fans are, we’re just customers. We get put on the back burner,” Whitlock said. “There was part of me that thought you can’t keep these professional sports can’t keep dumping on fans.”

These criticisms came just before Ace Bailey’s camp announced that he would finally be reporting to the Utah Jazz.

When Will Ace Bailey Finally Report to the Utah Jazz?

After all the drama, a representative from the Utah Jazz confirmed on Friday that the controversial No. 5 pick, Ace Bailey, will finally report to the team on Saturday and will appear for a press conference on Sunday.

“We’ve had good communication with Ace Bailey and his representatives. We feel good about everything. Ace and his family are coming to Utah tomorrow. We’ll have a press conference Sunday, and a practice Monday,” the Jazz representative said.

Despite this, there are still fears that Ace Bailey still would not show up, but there might be some ramifications, as he would not be eligible to play in the NBA. Should he play professionally next season, Utah will still have his draft rights.
