The Pittsburgh Panthers will be losing sophomore Jaland Lowe, who has decided to enter the transfer portal. This ends his two-year stay with the Panthers. However, it was also reported that he has a “Do Not Contact” tag on him and that returning to Pitt is a possibility.
Lowe played in and started 31 games for the Panthers this season. He averaged 16.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 5.5 assists in his 35.5 minutes per game. So, where may Lowe wind up in the transfer portal? Here are five potential landing spots for the Pitt guard.

Top Landing Spots for Jaland Lowe
Kicking off the list, we could see the Oklahoma Sooners make a run for Lowe. The Texas native has made it known that he hopes to go to a contender, and the Sooners could very well be the team. Plus, they have a major plus in being somewhat close to home for Lowe.
We could also see Lowe check out the Texas Longhorns or Texas Tech Red Raiders. These are two of Lowe’s top teams from his native state. The Longhorns and Red Raiders are certainly both teams that shouldn’t be forgotten about should Lowe hope to return home.
The Florida Gators could also be in a player for a young player like Lowe. The Gators are the No. 1 ranked team in all of college basketball. They are favored to win the entire NCAA March Madness, and that has to look good for Lowe, who will certainly want to go to a contending basketball team for his final couple of years in college.
The number one team that has the chance to take home Lowe comes from Florida, but it’s not the Gators. It’s Jai Lucas and the Miami Hurricanes. Lowe has some surprising ties to Lucas. For example, Lucas is the godfather of the now-former Panthers guard, and that could certainly play into his decision.
The Hurricanes are a very guard-heavy team. However, if it’s not broke, don’t fix it. Miami could seek to pick up another great guard through the transfer portal, and it could certainly come in Lucas’s godson, Lowe.
