Hubert Davis took the reins of the North Carolina Tar Heels in 2021. He was the assistant for the Tar Heels for nine years from 2012 to 2021. During his time as an assistant coach, he helped North Carolina win the 2017 national championship. In the four years as UNC head coach, Davis has coached some great talents.
He led North Carolina to the Final Four in 2022. The North Carolina Tar Heels also became ACC regular-season champions in 2024. Davis was crowned the ACC Coach of the Year in 2024.
In his fifth season in charge, North Carolina seems the strongest it has been for quite a while now. With Caleb Wilson, Elijah Davis, and Seth Trimble in prominent roles in the team, Hubert has a group of talented players at his disposal. Hubert recently talked about freshman Wilson in great awe.
“He [Caleb Wilson] is gifted basketball-wise but he is such a genuine like nice person. I mean he was handing out, like telling people to come to the game at the pit, this afternoon. We had a whiteout because Caleb went on social media and said, ‘I want a whiteout.’ So, first whiteout I have ever had in 14 years here. We had a freshman just say we are having a white out, and whole 22,000 showed up in white,” Hubert Davis was shocked to see Caleb Wilson’s influence.
“You know, I am just like, okay and I really believe this, if he ran for student body president, he would win. And he has only been here for 3 months,” Davis laughed.

Fans were equally impressed by the UNC freshman’s early impact.
“Caleb Wilson has significantly more aura than anybody on dukes roster,” one fan claimed.
“College basketball freshman class this year is lowkey looking nice,” one fan shared.
“Yes!! Caleb has been like that since my daughter was friends with him in high school. The best kid!! So incredibly proud of and happy for him!!!” someone expressed pride.
