After playing last season with the Cal Bears, sophomore guard Andrej Stojakovic is headed to join the Illinois Fighting Illini for his final two seasons of eligibility, providing them with a dynamic scoring guard.

A four-star recruit out of high school, Stojakovic began his collegiate career with the Stanford Cardinal. He showed promise, averaging 7.8 points and started 10 games down the stretch of the season.
After the season, he decided to leave Stanford and instead joined the Cal Bears.
In 2024, he assumed a go-to role as the primary scorer for the Bears on the wing. He upped his scoring, averaging 17.9 points and grabbed 4.7 rebounds while shooting 42.7% from the field.
He wasn’t the most efficient from three-point range, as he shot 31.8% on 4.4 attempts per game — but his beautiful shooting stroke suggests that he can improve greatly in that area.
Now, he’ll join the Fighting Illini, a team that made the NCAA Tournament a season ago and has hopes of competing for a Big Ten title.
Although several of Illinois’ top players from 2024 have departed the program, there’s still talent remaining with another key transfer along the way.
Junior Kylan Boswell averaged 12.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.4 assists last season. Standing 6’2″, 200 pounds, the physical guard decided to run it back for his senior season in Champaign.
Returning 7’1″ big man Tomislav Ivisic scored 13.0 points and grabbed 7.7 rebounds in 2024. He also stretched the defense, shooting 35.7% from deep in nailing 1.7 three-pointers a night.
His brother, formerly of the Arkansas Razorbacks, joined the Fighting Illini this offseason as well. Zvonimir Ivisic averaged 8.5 points and 4.3 rebounds. He can also stretch the defense, shooting 37.6% from deep at 7’2″.

That’s already a solid trio — but the addition of Stojakovic, who will be a high-scorer on the wing, will greatly raise the ceiling of Illinois.
