How They Got to the Elite Eight

The tournament began with 68 teams. Now, only eight remain.

Duke, led by projected No. 1 NBA Draft pick Cooper Flagg, beat Mount St. Mary’s, Baylor and Arizona to reach the Elite Eight. They’ll face Alabama, which defeated Robert Morris, Saint Mary’s and BYU—setting an NCAA record for most 3-pointers made in a tournament game.

Florida advanced with wins over Norfolk State, defending champion UConn, and Maryland. The Gators will take on Texas Tech, who knocked off UNC Wilmington, Drake, and Arkansas in a dramatic Sweet 16 comeback.

Houston beat SIU Edwardsville, Gonzaga and last year’s runner-up, Purdue. The Cougars will now face Tennessee, which defeated Wofford, UCLA and Kentucky.

Auburn took down Alabama State, Creighton and Michigan to reach the final eight. The Tigers will meet Michigan State, who advanced with wins over Bryant, New Mexico and Ole Miss.
