Uzan delivered standout performances in the postseason, notably scoring a career-high 25 points against Arizona in the Big 12 title game and contributing 22 points and six assists in a Sweet 16 victory over Purdue.
The 6’4″ guard, now 22, impressed scouts with his improved shooting, control off hesitation moves, and finishing ability inside the arc. Known for his low turnover rate and defensive growth under coach Kelvin Sampson, Uzan elevated his game significantly after transferring from Oklahoma.
Uzan can withdraw by May 28 to keep his college eligibility. His agent, Aman Dhesi, confirmed that a return to Houston is possible. His decision could greatly impact Houston and the broader Big 12 landscape heading into next season.
Uzan is currently ranked No. 42 on Yahoo Sports’ draft board and projected as the No. 39 overall pick in Kevin O’Connor’s latest mock draft, which is subject to change after the NBA Draft Lottery. In his scouting breakdown, O’Connor highlighted Uzan’s strengths as a shooter and passer.
“Uzan limits turnovers with good decision-making, yet he also plays with creativity,” O’Connor said. “He’ll throw a left-handed, off-the-dribble pass with confidence, and he can execute tough passes, whether it’s kickouts, lobs, or interior feeds where he must thread the needle.”
