The Gonzaga Bulldogs are undergoing a major roster shake-up. The NCAA transfer portal opened on March 24, 2025, and more than 1,700 players have entered the portal, including three from Gonzaga. Following their NCAA Tournament exit in the round of 32 against Houston, the Bulldogs’ offseason has begun.
Meanwhile, head coach Mark Few and his staff are focused on reconstructing the 2025-26 roster. The team is also set to lose four seniors—Ryan Nembhard, Nolan Hickman, Ben Gregg, and Khalif Battle—who have exhausted their eligibility. Few must now navigate the evolving transfer market with departures underway to build next season’s squad.

Players Exiting Gonzaga Basketball
Dusty Stromer
Sophomore guard Dusty Stromer was the first Gonzaga player to enter the transfer portal,
“First, I want to express my sincere gratitude to my family, Gonzaga University, and the incredible fans who have supported me throughout my two years in Spokane,” Stromer shared on Instagram. “After much thought and consideration, I have entered the transfer portal to explore new opportunities for my academic and athletic future.”
Stromer’s playing time dropped this season. He averaged 17.5 minutes per game, compared to nearly 24 minutes as a freshman.
Jun Seok Yeo
After Stromer’s decision, junior forward Jun Seok Yeo entered the transfer portal. Yeo’s role on the team diminished significantly from his first to second season. In 2024-25, he saw action in 14 games, averaging just over four minutes and 1.6 points per contest. The South Korean native played 25 games during 2023-24, logging nearly seven minutes per game and posting 2.3 points per outing.
Michael Ajayi
Guard Michael Ajayi transferred as the third Gonzaga player to use the portal when he officially announced his decision on March 27. During his single basketball season at Gonzaga, Ajayi played from his home base in Kent, Washington, and accumulated 6.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per game.
The 6-foot-7 guard shot 44.6% from the field and 18.2% from three-point range, starting 13 of 34 games.
Before joining Gonzaga, Ajayi transferred from Pepperdine, where he was a first-team All-WCC selection in 2023-24. That season, he led the Waves with 17.2 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 47% shooting from deep.
