Gilbert Arenas’ ex-wife, Laura Govan, seems to be having a really good time being in vacation mode. All of this is evident from her recent Instagram post, where she flaunts herself looking gorgeous in a white and blue bikini combo. She posted a reel consisting of snaps of her by the beach to Kanye West’s ‘The New Workout Plan’ song from his debut album, ‘The College Dropout’. In the caption to her post, Govan wrote,
“Summer SH*t I Do in The Winter, Summer Meet Winter Winter Meet Summer ❤️”

Seems like this is part of a series of pictures Govan has been posting for over a week now. Earlier, she posted a similar reel of herself wearing a crop top by the beach, embracing her Mexican roots. The crop-top had the colors of Mexico’s flag and the country’s coat of arms on it. In that post, she writes about how she “feels good” about “tapping into her Mexican side” and eating authentic food, pan dulce, and supporting her daughter, Izela Arenas.
Govan co-parents four children with Gilbert Arenas, with Izela and Alijah turning out to be top basketball prospects. Izela currently plays as a guard for the Kansas State Wildcats’ basketball team and is averaging 9.9 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per season.
Govan herself is a popular media entity, most famously known for dating Gilbert Arenas from 2002 to 2014. She is best known for her roles in Almost Amazing (2017), JC Tha Barber (2017), and Basketball Wives LA (2011).
Laura Govan Got Candid About Her Relationship With Gilbert Arenas
Laura Govan and Gilbert Arenas met in 2001 during Arenas’ rookie season with the Golden State Warriors and quickly developed a strong connection. By 2002, they had made their relationship official and soon became one of the prominent celebrity couples in Los Angeles and the Bay Area. Their partnership drew attention both for Arenas’ NBA profile and Govan’s growing public presence.
The couple got engaged in 2008 and went on to have four children together: Izela, Alijah, Hamiley, and Aloni. As a family, they appeared to embody a high-profile, basketball-centered household, with their children now emerging as promising young players in their own right. Their lives were often in the public eye, adding pressure to an already intense relationship.
However, the relationship ended in 2014, and Govan has since spoken candidly about its unhealthy dynamics. On the Deep Healings Conversations podcast, she described it as a “fight to f**k” relationship, which she once mistook for their love language before recognizing how toxic it was for the future. Today, Govan and Arenas co-parent their four children, while Laura’s current relationship status remains unclear, despite occasional rumors and links to other people.
