Epps is a prolific scoring guard who fills a need as an offensive threat at MSU’s guard position. Last season, Mississippi State reached a third consecutive NCAA tournament, but the Bulldogs experienced a squad turnover this offseason.
Top scorer Josh Hubbard declared for the NBA draft while maintaining his college eligibility. If he doesn’t return, MSU will lose its top eight scorers from last season.
Epps is the Bulldogs’ fifth commitment from the transfer portal, joining wing Achor Achor from Kansas State, center Quincy Ballard from Wichita State, guard/forward Amier Ali from Arizona State, and guard Ja’Borri McGhee from the UAB Blazers.
Epps played high school basketball at Combine Academy in Charlotte after starting his career at King’s Fork High School in Suffolk. He was the No. 81 overall recruit there as a four-star prospect in the 2022 cycle. He was also rated as the No. 12 combo guard in the class.
