Yanic Konan Niederhauser Hints at His Priorities For Staying In the NBA Draft

The player has already impressed everyone with his solid G League Elite Camp performance. Following this, the 22-year-old has been invited to the NBA Draft Combine.

Although he has until May 28 to decide his future, whether he wants to return to college for his senior season or continue at the draft, the center has hinted at his priorities to the NBA teams. ESPN’s NBA Draft analyst already believes the 7’0″ player has a full opportunity to improve his performance at the NBA Draft Combine.

During a conversation, Jonathan Givony asks Niederhauser about his days in the Chicago elite camp, to which the G League standout player replies, “It was a great experience playing with these guys competing. Everybody I see has the same goal, and it’s great, just play hard with them.”

Regarding what the NBA teams learned about him at the camp, Niederhauser said that the teams were “able to learn my athleticism. See how athletic I can be. How can he play above the room, and how can he be dominant in defense?”

Niederhauser is sure that he did “pretty good” at the camp. The player believes that did everything he could have done.

He said, “Show my strength and play with a good motive. Feel like I played good.”

He then talked about what the NBA teams might have seen in him and what he did at Penn State: “One thing I was able to show is that I can put the ball on the floor, I can push it, I can handle, and also create out of one-on-one positions.”

For Niederhauser, the elite camp week is a very important week during which he wants to show people what he can do and prove that he can “really hope and be on that level.”

While talking about his decision to remain at the draft or return to college, the Penn State forward stated that he hasn’t decided anything yet. However, Niederhauser believes that his last two days at the camp were “successful.”

Meanwhile, according to a report by 247 Sports, Niederhauser has been projected as the second-round pick in a post-lottery NBA mock draft. The Penn State forward received a lot of recognition this week following his performance, and this is what he wanted: to show those who don’t know him yet.
