    In March 2021, McCaffery signed a four-year contract extension with the University of Iowa, securing his position as head coach until the 2027-28 season. This extension followed an excellent season, showing the university’s faith in his leadership.

    Auxiliary Compensation: $900K with public-speaking appearances, fundraising, and camps

    Television and radio appearances: $300K (with half paid by Learfield Communications)

    Nike apparel and shoe agreement: $150K

    This lifts his overall salary for the 2024-25 season to around $3.4 million.

    The contract also has a buyout clause. If the university terminated McCaffery without cause around April 1, they would owe him nearly $4.2 million, which would be paid over 36 months.
