Top Five Transfer Portal Landing Spots for Villanova Guard Kris Parker

    Florida State Seminoles

Parker attended high school just a half-hour drive from the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center and hails from Tallahassee, Florida. While the now-retired Leonard Hamilton was the one who made the initial contact with Parker, the prospect of playing for the young Luke Loucks could be of appeal to him.

Florida State is not exactly stacked in the backcourt, and the loss of top guard Jamir Watkins to eligibility means plenty of minutes are up for grabs.

    Florida Gators

Head coach Todd Golden has big holes to fill once Walter Clayton Jr. heads out the door. Parker could aim for the defending champions and help Golden fill the massive shoes left by Clayton. With seniors Alijah Martin and Will Richard also out of eligibility, the Gators could be looking for a hometown hero.

    Miami Hurricanes

The Hurricanes made an offer to Parker out of high school, and have shown they’re not afraid to spend in the transfer portal.

With new head coach Jai Lucas at the helm, the Hurricanes have added guard Tre Donaldson to replace the losses of leading scorer Matthew Cleveland to eligibility and Nijel Pack, Jalil Bethea, Jalen Blackmon, Austin Swartz, Paul Djobet, Divine Ugochukwu and AJ Staton-McCray to the portal.

While the former Wolverine guard is a solid start, they still have a full backcourt to fill out, the hometown kid could offer the size the 6’ Donaldson doesn’t.

    Iowa Hawkeyes

The Hawkeyes lost some players to the portal following the dismissal of former coach Fran McCaffery, but the future now looks bright with ex-Drake head coach Ben McCollum at the helm.

The Hawkeyes, who lost guards Josh Dix, Brock Harding, and Seydou Traore to the portal and Drew Thelwell to eligibility while gaining Drake’s Bennett Stirtz and Kael Combs, will certainly be looking for more help in the frontcourt.

They currently only manning freshman Jacob Koch and junior Carter Kingsbury, neither of whom averaged even two points per game last year.

    Rutgers Scarlet Knights

The Scarlet Knights got cleaned out this spring, with star guard Dylan Harper announcing his entry to the NBA Draft, Ace Bailey expected to follow suit, starter Jeremiah Williams hitting the portal, and Tyson Acuff and PJ Hayes IV finishing off their eligibility. That leaves plenty of room for Storr.

What was once a crowded guard room on head coach Steve Pikiell’s team is now in shreds, with only two players — junior Jordan Derkack and sophomore Jamichael Davis — having played any meaningful minutes in the backcourt last year.
