Rutgers guard Jeremiah Williams entered the transfer portal on March 31 with one year of eligibility remaining. The Chicago native has garnered interest from multiple programs after spending time at Temple, Iowa State and completing two seasons with the Scarlet Knights.
Williams served as a senior captain for Rutgers during the 2024-25 season, where he started 15 games and averaged 12.2 points per game. According to 247Sports, his final campaign with the Scarlet Knights was impacted by injuries, yet he remained an important contributor when available on the court.

Jeremiah Williams Drawing Interest From Multiple Conferences
Williams has generated interest from programs spanning different conferences and regions. Florida State (ACC), Penn State and USC (Big Ten), Mississippi State (SEC), UC Santa Barbara (Big West), Utah (Big 12), Rhode Island (A-10), Virginia Tech (ACC), DePaul and Xavier (Big East) have all shown interest in Williams.
According to sources, Williams is currently on a visit to George Washington University. His agent, CJ Ward, confirmed the visit to 247SportsPortal as Williams receives interest from programs across multiple conferences, including Florida State, Penn State, and USC among other schools.

Previous reports also had Nebraska and VCU in the running for Williams. At Rutgers, Williams played in games over two seasons with the Scarlet Knights, including 15 starts during the 2024-25 season.
The 2025 transfer portal window opened with significant activity, with Williams being among several players looking for new opportunities. Transfer portal movement has become increasingly common in college basketball, with players looking to find the right fit academically and athletically.
Williams’ college career has featured various transitions and challenges. He began at Temple (2020-2022) before a brief stop at Iowa State. His statistics at Temple showed his contributions as a guard during his time with the Owls before he moved on to his next opportunity.
At Iowa State, Williams faced an injury before eventually joining Rutgers. His Scarlet Knights experience involved overcoming a suspension for the first half of the 2023-24 season due to underage gambling. Williams played his first game at Rutgers in February 2024 against Michigan after obtaining a temporary restraining order against the NCAA.
