Florida and Arkansas Excited About Boogie Fland in the Transfer Portal

Multiple schools are currently in the running for the top prospect; however, among these are Florida, last year’s National Championship winners, Houston, and Ole Miss, last year’s finalist.

Going into the 2025 NBA Draft,  Fland was viewed as a potential lottery pick and one-and-done. Fland’s stock tanked significantly due to a major injury that led to a disappointing second half of the season for the freshman.

After missing two months of game action after undergoing surgery due to an injury sustained to his thumb, Fland averaged 13.5 points, 5.1 assists, and 3.2 rebounds.

However, many still view the Razorback as one of the most talented prospects in the transfer portal, including last year’s NCAA Championship winners, the Florida Gators, with major buzz surrounding his move to Florida, according to ESPN.

With the move to Florida looking like it could potentially be on, fans of the National Champions have been rolling out the red carpet for the Guard, including CBS Sports analyst and Gators fan Jake Winderman.

“If I’m the Gators, I’m putting every dollar and cent left in my NIL budget to land Boogie Fland.” Wrote the CBS Sports analyst on Twitter, claiming that he could have a ‘Walter-Clayton-like impact.’

It won’t be at the same level, but he could have a Walter Clayton-like impact for this Florida team next year. He’s the perfect backcourt piece for Golden and the Gators.”

After it was announced that there was Buzz surrounding Fland and his move to Florida, a  Florida Gators fan page announced the news, leading to increasing excitement in the fanbase.

Underneath this announcement, the replies were full of statements like ‘Back to back again baby!!!’ ‘Oh man, if this goes down, then Gators are looking good. WOW.’ and ‘Feels more and more like ’06 every day’

Arkansas Land 5-Star Point Guard Recruit as Boogie Fland Replacement Amid Florida Buzz

Despite the increasing likelihood that they will lose Fland, fans of the Razorbacks online have not appeared to be up in arms about the loss.

“Who is ‘they’? Nobody who knows anything thought or thinks he’s coming back. Arkansas has the #1 PG from HS coming in.”

One Razorback fan wrote, in response to a tweet claiming that fans of the program expected Fland to return.

Despite the apparent loss, Arkansas has apparently already moved on from the former NBA Draft Prospect, as Five-star point guard recruit Darius Acuff is set to hit the college basketball scene next season.

The Detroit, Michigan, native committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks last year. Acuff also had offers from Kansas and Michigan, but he’ll spend his freshman year in the SEC getting coached by John Calipari.

“Darius is an unbelievable playmaking guard who can score. He has unbelievable skills as a playmaker and at creating his own shot,” the Razorbacks’ coach explained.

“What I loved was his toughness and will to win. The first time I saw him, I knew that was the guy for me! On every opportunity I got to see him play, he never disappointed. Excited for our fans to get to watch him play in Bud Walton Arena!”
