‘I Am 99.9% Sure’ — ESPN Analyst Snubs Ace Bailey, Declaring Rutgers Teammate Projected No. 2 Pick in the NBA Draft

ESPN analyst Jonathan Givony has snubbed Ace Bailey and declared Dylan Harper as the projected No. 2 pick in the NBA Draft. Harper is averaging 19.3 points per game and has attracted the interest of many scouts with his command of the floor.

The 19-year-old is highly rated for his scoring prowess, and Givony has expressed his confidence that the 6’6″ point guard will be the No. 2 pick.

Jonathan Givony Rates Dylan Harper Higher In NBA Draft

“Dylan Harper is going to be the No. 2 pick in the draft, I am 99.9% sure about it,” Givony explained. “He also looked really good, tested very well, shot it very well, his body is in a great place; he’s lost 15 pounds in the last year. He’s also grown and he has measurements compared to the likes of Dwyane Wade coming out of college.

The San Antonio Spurs are signaling to teams that they are very excited about the opportunity to draft Dylan Harper. They are not pursuing trades, from what we’re hearing. They think they can play Harper together with Steph Castle and De’Aaron Fox in the same backcourt.

Harper and Bailey are two of the most highly rated prospects in the 2025 NBA Draft. Bailey is averaging 18.2 points and has emerged as one of the best tough-shot makers in college basketball. The 6’10” wing was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team and was third-team All-Big Ten after averaging 17.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game.

Despite Bailey’s impressive numbers after pairing with freshman guard Dylan Harper, Givony insists that Harper will be the No. 2 pick in the draft.

Harper Worth Potential No. 2 Pick

Harper is worth the potential No. 2 pick after he broke the freshman scoring record at Rutgers. The 19-year-old finished as the fifth-best scorer in the Big Ten as he showed his potential with several impressive performances.

Harper put in incredible efforts as he challenged Cooper Flagg for the No. 1 pick early in the season.

He recorded back-to-back 36- and 37-point games against Notre Dame and Alabama in the Players Era Tournament in Las Vegas last November.

However, Harper sustained an ankle injury and a bout with the flu, which caused him to lose significant weight and miss time in January. As a result, he fell short in his challenge for the No. 1 pick.
