Dame Sarr Draws High Praise as Kansas Emerges as Top Contender for Italian Standout

Fran Fraschilla, an ESPN analyst, is totally impressed by Dame Sarr, who is eyed by the Jayhawks. The Italian-Senegalese basketball player has played with eight NBA teammates.

Taking over his X (formerly Twitter) account, the former Manhattan head coach believes it will be a huge addition if the deal between the player and the team is finalized.

According to an ABC report, Sarr is a projected first-round pick at the 2026 NBA Draft. The 18-year-old has played for the Italian National Team and began his career with the local academy Orange Basket Bassano. The Treviso, Italy native is averaging 1.8 points while shooting 50% from three-point range.

Meanwhile, the Jayhawks concluded last year with the number 1 rank among Big 12 schools. The team has won March Madness four times since 2022. However, the program has not appeared in the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament since. The team lost in the first round of the tournament for the first time in 20 years despite the addition of three-time All-American Hunter Dickinson.
