The Oregon Ducks have secured the commitment of a high-scoring mid-major guard, hoping to add a scoring punch to their roster.

Oregon Ducks Land Elon Transfer TK Simpkins Following Strong Junior Season
Just days after news that the Ducks are welcoming both soon-to-be juniors, guard Jackson Shelstad and forward Kwame Evans Jr. back into the fold for next season, they’ve received word of a commitment from former Elon Phoenix guard TK Simpkins.
On3 Sports first reported the news.

Simpkins began his collegiate career at Northwest Florida State College for the 2022-23 season before transferring to Elon for his sophomore and junior seasons.
He had success right away as a sophomore, starting 25 of 29 games and contributing 13.8 points on 41.6% shooting from the field. A major weakness in his game was his outside shooting, as he connected on only 28.7% of his 3.0 attempts per game.
The Brooklyn, NY, native improved his game last season, averaging a team-high 16.4 ppg, dishing out 2.6 apg and grabbing 3.1 rpg. He also greatly refined his shooting, upping his three-point attempts to 5.9 per game and converting 36.7%.
Following his breakout season, Simpkins will head to Eugene to join the Ducks.
Oregon, fresh off its second consecutive second-round exit in the NCAA Tournament, is using the portal to replace outgoing production.
Starting shooting guard T.J. Bamba, who contributed 10.5 ppg, is graduating. So is backup guard Keeshawn Barthelemy, who averaged 10.0 ppg largely as a scoring punch off the bench.
Simpkins could be an option to replace both players, either as a combo guard next to the Ducks’ star point guard Jackson Shelstad in the backcourt or as a heavily relied-upon scoring option in the second unit.

Simpkins’s frame isn’t the biggest at 6’4″and 184 pounds, but he and Shelstad could make up for it with their combined explosiveness offensively.
Third-Team All-Big Ten big man Nate Bittle is testing the NBA Draft waters with the ability to return to Oregon if he chooses.
If he does return, the Ducks would already have a solid core of him, Shelstad, and the talented Evans Jr. at the forward position. Add in Simpkins and Oregon would seem poised to be among the best in the Big Ten once again.
