    Elijah Fisher Player Profile

Pacific Tiger junior guard Elijah Fisher has declared for the NBA Draft, entering what is expected to be a talented and deep draft class. Standing at 6’6″, Fisher possesses elite-level athleticism and can finish strong against defenders.

He exhibits great effort on both ends of the floor, often taking charge of scoring while also being a committed defender who can effectively read passing lanes.

This year, Fisher averaged 15.7 points per game; however, his inconsistency as a shooter may affect his draft stock. Despite this, his versatility suggests he could become an impactful rotational player for several teams, making him a likely late-second-round draft pick for whoever selects him.

At 21 years old, Fisher is poised to make an impact relatively early in his career, thanks to his experience and maturity compared to other NBA draft prospects. He could be a valuable addition to several young teams looking for players to develop. The five teams that I believe are realistic landing spots for Fisher are the Magic, Suns, Pelicans, Kings, and Heat.

    Best Team Fits

The Magic would be an intriguing option for Fisher. They have a young team with two franchise cornerstones: Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner.

However, they lack a significant amount of offensive talent surrounding them, which could create an opportunity for a player like Fisher, who could contribute offensively off the bench. If he can enhance his jump shot, he would become an even more appealing fit, especially since the Magic had the lowest three-point shooting percentage in the NBA.

The Suns are anticipated to undergo significant changes, both in their roster and the overall direction of the franchise. Phoenix is expected to seek to trade at least one of their star players, most likely Kevin Durant, to acquire draft capital and strengthen their roster.

Adding a young, athletic guard with potential could be a strategic move for a team needing a complete reset, if not a full rebuild.

For Fisher, this could present an opportunity to earn playing time early with a team still trying to establish its identity.

Like the Suns, the Pelicans are another franchise searching for stability and a positive direction. For several years, they have been a team that has been just a healthy Zion away from achieving something meaningful in the postseason. Unfortunately, injuries plagued them again, as both Zion and Dejounte Murray missed most of the season.

It will be interesting to see how they manage their roster, especially after trading away Brandon Ingram. The Pelicans have a history of successfully adding second-round or undrafted talent, notably players like Herbert Jones and Jose Alvarado. Elijah Fisher could fit this mold for the Pelicans, particularly if he proves reliable defensively.

Sacramento has undergone significant roster changes recently, including trading away De’Aaron Fox and acquiring Zach LaVine. The combination of LaVine and DeMar DeRozan is intriguing, especially since they previously enjoyed much success together on the Chicago Bulls.

However, given the team’s recent transformations, adding a player like Fisher, who can impact both ends of the floor, is essential. The Kings averaged the third-fewest points off the bench, with just 26.3 points per game.

Bringing in an explosive guard who can generate offense off the bench could be crucial for a team that has struggled to find scoring beyond its starting five.

Miami is known for its strong Heat culture and reputation for holding players to high standards. A player like Fisher would be a good fit for the Heat, as he would benefit from learning under an excellent coach like Erik Spoelstra, who is known for maximizing his players’ potential.

Fisher’s strong work ethic and competitive defensive play could significantly enhance his chances of earning a spot in the rotation. Among all the teams I previously mentioned as potential destinations for Fisher, the Heat stands out as my preferred choice for him.
