Duke is preparing for a special moment in the coming season, as they’ll take on Army West Point on Veterans Day. Scheduled for Nov. 11, 2025, the clash is set to take place at West Point, the home of the U.S. Military Academy. This game isn’t just another matchup on the calendar; the game is set to honor and celebrate military service.

A Special Veterans Day Game at West Point
The Blue Devils will travel to Christl Arena in West Point, N.Y., for this Veterans Day showdown, marking their first game there since 1997. It’s the 17th time Duke and Army will face off, with their first meeting dating back to 1932. Back then, the Army hosted the first seven games of the series, but Duke hasn’t played at West Point in nearly three decades.
Duke’s head coach, Jon Scheyer, didn’t hold back on how much this game means to the program. He stated, “It’s always an honor to compete against Army, but we’re incredibly excited to have the opportunity to play at Army next year on Veterans Day in honor of all those who have served in our military. “
He also mentioned how special it is to play at West Point, calling it a privilege to experience the culture there and face an early-season challenge on the road.

Coach K’s Deep Ties to West Point
The last time Duke played at West Point, in 1997, Mike Krzyzewski, Duke’s former coach, who graduated from the school in 1969 and even coached the Army’s basketball team from 1975-1980, was on the sidelines, leading the Blue Devils to a win to open the season.
Now, under Scheyer’s leadership, Duke returns to honor that history. Scheyer, who played for Krzyzewski at Duke and took over as head coach in 2022, understands the weight of this moment.
A Tough Early Test in Duke’s 2025-2026 Schedule
The Veterans Day game is just one piece of Duke’s packed non-conference schedule for the 2025-2026 season. The Blue Devils are known for challenging themselves early, and this year is no different.
