Jon Scheyer’s Class of 2026 plans for Duke drastically changed this week after Babatunde Oladotun decided to reclassify next year. Oladotun was Scheyer’s primary target for the Class of 2027, but that all changed when the 6-foot-9 forward opted to graduate a year early from Blake High School (Md.).
Scheyer and his staff have been working diligently on the recruiting trail following Duke’s disappointing loss to Houston in the 2025 NCAA Tournament’s Final Four. Apart from Oladotun, here are Scheyer’s top five targets for Duke’s Class of 2026.
Jon Scheyer’s Top 5 Targets For Duke’s Class of 2026
1. Jordan Smith Jr.
The Duke Blue Devils got some great news about their pursuit of Jordan Smith Jr. The five-star prospect announced this week his final six choices for his next school, with Duke making the short list. Joining the Blue Devils in the race for Smith are Arkansas, Indiana, Georgetown, Syracuse and Kentucky.

Smith impressed in the recent EYBL season, averaging 19.2 points, 7.1 boards, 3.4 dimes, 2.1 steals and 1.0 blocks per contest. He will suit up for Paul VI Catholic this coming season before making the jump to college.
2. Brandon McCoy
Brandon McCoy has been an early target of Jon Scheyer for his Class of 2026, with the 6-foot-5, 185-pound star receiving an offer from Duke in July of last year. He has already visited the Duke campus, spending some time with the Blue Devils last November.
McCoy’s Duke visit doesn’t mean the Blue Devils are the frontrunners for his services. The St. John Bosco High School star told the media last month that “nobody is over anybody right now.” He revealed that he has gotten offers from roughly two dozen suitors, and he is still processing which college he will play for in the 2026-27 NCAA season.
3. Christian Collins
Brandon McCoy isn’t the only St. John Bosco player on Jon Scheyer’s radar. He has also extended an offer to Christian Collins, a 6-foot-8 forward from California. Collins recently spoke to ZagsBlog about his experience being recruited by Scheyer and the Blue Devils.
“Duke was great,” McCoy told ZagsBlog about the Blue Devils’ home visit. “They met my mom and auntie and we all talked. It was a great experience. Jon Scheyer is a great coach.”
The Blue Devils will have their work cut out for them, however, in signing McCoy, who has also received in-home visits from Kentucky, Alabama, Arizona, Cal, Texas and Louisville.
4. Cameron Williams
The Duke Blue Devils have made progress with their pursuit of five-star prospect Cameron Williams. He has scheduled an official visit to Duke on Oct. 3, giving the Blue Devils an opportunity to impress Williams with their college basketball program and facilities.
Williams told ZagsBlog that it meant a lot to get an offer from Duke. He revealed that Jon Scheyer spoke to his father first before talking to him about the offer. He called Duke his “favorite school last year.”
5. Miikka Muurinen
The Duke Blue Devils are right in the mix to sign Miikka Muurinen, who included Jon Scheyer’s team on his final list of suitors. Joining the Blue Devils in the race for Muurinen are North Carolina, Arkansas, Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky and NC State.
The 6-foot-10 forward is one of the top prospects in all of high school hoops. The Compass Prep star is ranked 15th in the latest Rivals 150 list.
