The Content of the Graphics Design

According to a post from the Duke Men’s Basketball X account, the account posted graphics with the caption “S/O to our guys locked in on the NBA playoff push!” Here are some of the Duke Alumni featured in the graphics:

    • Jayson Tatum plays for the Boston Celtics.
    • Zion Williamson, who plays for the New Orleans Pelicans.
    • Kyrie Irving plays for the Dallas Mavericks.
    • Brandon Ingram, who plays for the New Orleans Pelicans.
    • Paolo Banchero who plays for the Orlando Magic.
    • Gary Trent Jr., who plays for the Milwaukee Bucks
    • Dereck Lively II plays for the Dallas Mavericks.
    • Wendell Carter Jr. plays for Orlando Magic.

    Controversies Around The Post

While the Duke X post aims to celebrate Duke alumni now playing in the NBA, many fans say the graphics are misleading. For example, the caption mentions NBA Playoff Push, but the attached graphics read NBA Playoffs.

One fan commented, “The Hawks, Magic, and Grizzlies are not in the Playoffs. Other fans see this post as an opportunity to troll Duke by asking questions like “Did any of these players win anything at Duke?”

In reality, the handle only posted all the players in the Playoff hunt, and omitting the “Push” in the graphics could be deliberate. Nonetheless, the reactions the image generates prove that fans know everything happening in the NBA.

Moreover, this post will also significantly boost Duke Alumni’s chances in the NBA playoffs, as they now know their college and fans are supporting them.

    Duke: A Powerhouse

Irrespective of the controversy in the post, Duke is a college basketball powerhouse and will continue to produce quality players. Another star, Cooper Flagg, will soon join Duke alumni in the NBA, which is good news for fans.
