Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has revealed what his superstar teammate, Stephen Curry, told him regarding Ja Morant’s rift with his franchise, the Memphis Grizzlies. On Monday, Nov. 3, @hooper on Instagram uploaded a carousel post that includes snippets from the most recent episode of Green’s podcast, “The Draymond Green Show.”
In one of the clips, Green spoke about his teammate and two-time regular-season MVP Stephen Curry, and shared an exchange they had about Morant and the Grizzlies. The four-time NBA champion detailed Curry’s response to the rift between Morant and the Grizzlies.
“ When I saw his comments, I found those interesting. But all they did was confirm to me what I was watching. When we we got on that plane, I was telling Steph like, ‘Man, Ja ain’t in it at all, like, it looked like something happened. Like Ja, it ain’t Ja, like he was giving the ball to Cam Spencer and kind of going to stand in the corner, you know, so you could tell. And Steph was like, ‘Huh, Quiet protests going on, huh?'” Green said.
“And I was like, ‘That’s what it looked like.’ And then obviously after the game, we saw the comments. I was like, ‘Yep.’ And rightfully so, there was something going on,” he added.

The conversation Green and Curry had was presumably made after they and the rest of coach Steve Kerr’s Warriors defeated Morant and coach Tuomas Iisalo’s Grizzlies on Oct. 27 on their home court, the Chase Center in San Francisco, California. Since then, the Warriors have racked up a record of 4-3, while Morant and his Memphis-based team have fallen off to 3-5.

Draymond Green Believes Ja Morant’s “Quiet Protest” Stems From The Firing Of Taylor Jenkins
In March of this year, when it was still the 2024-25 season, the Memphis Grizzlies franchise made headlines when they fired their previous head coach, Taylor Jenkins, after six seasons.
The news came as a surprise to many, especially since Jenkins is the team’s winningest coach in its history. For Draymond Green, the current rift between Ja Morant and his squad may have stemmed from this.
“And so when you see this, this leaves you in a space of, is this the beginning of the end? And it takes you back to Taylor Jenkins getting fired and them hiring assistant, just moving, bumping the assistant coach up. When you looked at their team, Jaren, Ja, those guys, I think they rocked with Taylor Jenkins. I truly, in my heart believe that they rocked with Taylor Jenkins, so,” Green explained on the same podcast episode.
